Two entrepreneurs have filled a gap in the networking market and created a group solely for home-based businesses.
The Home Base Business Network was launched on November 19 by creators Jim Taggart (of Taggart Consulting) and Tony Eades (of BrandManager) to give home-business owners a platform to engage with peers.
The group aims to be a network of industry specialists, like-minded business people and a platform for information and inspiration for more than two million home-based businesses across the country.
But Dr Taggart, a former Kellyville resident, said features like its own dedicated internet radio station broadcasting all day will set it apart from other networks.
"We will have quality business people such as advisors, industry leaders and consultants providing exclusive advice to all our members via the blog and the radio.
"Our events will not have speeches; they will be all about getting to know each other and about Tony and I using our industry contacts to provide our members with real business opportunities."
Tony Eades, a digital-marketing specialist based in Bella Vista, said they spent 14 months researching and developing an "environment" for such businesses.
"We believe our dynamic 'ecosystem' has a vibrancy that connects people together," he said.
"Our members can not only exchange energy and information with each other but also interact with the ecosystem itself.
"No one has done what we've done but I believe that if you never fail in life, your dreams have never been big enough," Mr Eades said.
Home Base Business Network will donate 10 per cent of all membership fees — which cost $50 per year — to The Salvation Army.
