A German tourist who illegally scaled an ancient pyramid to take death-defying selfies has been banned from the country for life.
Andrej Ciesielski caused outrage when he climbed the 4500-year-old Cheops pyramid at Giza on the outskirts of Cairo.
His intention was to take photos on the top of the ancient tomb, which he did, and posted to his Instagram account.

The breathtaking images show the 18-year-old sitting on top of the pyramid - once the biggest man-made structure in the world - with his feet dangling off the edge.
After the incident the 18-year-old was detained and questioned by police, and now, according to the Egyptian Streets, the teen has been banned from Egypt for the rest of his life.
Rules against climbing Egypt's monuments have been put in place to protect them from human destruction.
But despite receiving the ban, Ciesielski said the photos were "worth the risk".
"It took me about eight minutes to get to the top of the pyramid and I listened to music on the way up," Ciesielski told The Daily Mail.

"After a few minutes climbing, I started to attract a bit of attention and some of the security shouted to me to come down in Arabic.
"I had asked locals what they thought of my attempt and they warned me that it was illegal to climb the pyramids, although I thought it would be fine, what with Egypt's dependence on tourists.
"I was told that I did risk prison, although on balance I thought the photos would be worth it."
"It was absolutely surreal standing on top of one of the wonders of the world and something that I will never forget" he added.
"I wanted to experience Egyptian culture and I definitely managed that."
