Girls' celebration
Rosie's Place invites year 7 girls from Mount Druitt to the International Day of the Girls Festival at the Mount Druitt Hub today.
The free event is about celebrating and empowering girls' lives by highlighting that all girls should be treated equally and embrace their differences.
There will be youth services, local talent and free food.
Recent Paralympics cycling medallist, Jayme Paris, will be a guest speaker.
Rosie's Place is a community-based counselling service for children, young people and their families.

Anxiety help
Mental Health Association NSW will host a free forum on problem anxiety at Rooty Hill RSL on October 10 at 6pm.
October is national Mental Health Month.
More than 10 per cent of Australians will be affected by an anxiety disorder in their lives.
UWS clinical psychologist, Rocco Crino, will give an overview of anxiety disorders, while Julie Leitch will speak about her experiences living with and treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder.
"It's common for people not to realise that their symptoms are that of an anxiety disorder, so the first step is raising awareness," Ms Leitch said.
"It's equally important for people to realise recovery is possible with the right assistance, and we'll talk more about recovery during the forum."
