This year’s Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) Quality Awards has just been launched, and readers are invited to cast a vote for the best project.

Each year, WSLHD hosts the Quality Awards (QA) as an opportunity to harness the creative and innovative ideas of staff across the western Sydney area.

The benefits of the Quality Award projects extend to patients, carers and their families, as well as to staff and the community.

WSLHD director of clinical governance Alison Starr said: “the enthusiasm of staff participating in these awards is a great reflection of their passion to continually improve the quality of care delivered to patients in our community. I encourage members of the public to join us at the QA showcases.”

A panel of judges will determine the winners of the 2016 WSLHD Quality Awards. The Quality Awards will feature the traditional and much-loved roving showcase display at each of the five western Sydney facilities - Westmead, Blacktown, Mt Druitt, Auburn and Cumberland hospitals.

Location details for the 2016 WSLHD Quality Award showcases are Mt Druitt Hospital, 25 July, 10am-2pm; Blacktown Hospital, 26 July, 10am-2pm; Cumberland Hospital, 27 July, 10am-2pm; Auburn Hospital, 28 July, 10am-2pm and Westmead Hospital, 29 July, 10am-2pm.

Community members are invited to come to the showcase displays to view the projects, meet the teams, and vote for the People’s Choice Award.
