Using a mobile phone while driving is risky, especially if you are part an alleged ice ring.
Police stopped Neildeep Roy, 26, on Friday when they noticed him on his phone on Thomas Street in Haymarket, near Sydney's CBD.
A search of the Mitsubishi Outlander he was driving revealed an alleged stash of methamphetamine valued at $1.2 million.
Then a search of Mr Roy's home on Burnett Street allegedly uncovered more methamphetamine and a large amount of identity theft material.
After further investigations, the Redfern Region Enforcement Squad went west.
Officers stopped Chun Sing Kwok, 30, who was carrying a suitcase on Canberra Street, St Johns Park, about 4.30pm on Saturday.
Inside the suitcase police allegedly found 10 kilograms of ice. Three and half hours later, they executed a warrant to search a house on the same street and found $1.4 million in cash.
Police arrested Emanuel Suleman, 21, and took him to Fairfield Police Station, where they had also taken Mr Kwok.
More inquiries led police to Marrickville, where they allegedly found a further 77 kilograms of ice in a house on Ann Street.
The total estimated street value of the seizures: $45 million.
Mr Suleman was charged with knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime and drug possession. Mr Kwok was charged with two counts of supplying a large quantity of a prohibited drug, as well as dealing with proceeds of crime.
The pair were set to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.
Mr Roy is charged with commercial supply, dealing with proceeds of crime and traffic offences. He remains in custody, due to appear before Central Local Court on Thursday.
