British actor Joshua Sasse, who is engaged to Australian singer Kylie Minogue, has revealed the couple are "very lucky and very happy."
The 28-year-old London born actor fronted the US media last week to promote his new television series No Tomorrow.
And while the US media were either indifferent or merely curious about his famous bride-to-be, Sasse told Fairfax Media the couple were very happy.
"Very lucky and very happy," he said. "There are no negatives at all."
"I love Australia and I am really happy," Sasse added.
One issue did give him pause about his future life as Australia's favourite son-in-law, however: the country's glacial speed in legalising gay marriage.
"I am very sad that Australia hasn't changed their laws on gay marriage," Sasse told Fairfax Media.
The issue is also one which is personal to his 48-year-old, Melbourne-born fiance.
"I feel like it will happen eventually, but wouldn't it be great if it happened sooner rather than later?" Minogue said in 2014. "That would be my one flag I would fly unequivocally," Sasse added.
Sasse will star in a new series, No Tomorrow, playing a young man who convinces a young woman that the world is ending, prompting the pair to embark on a wish list of adventures and experiences.
The series, which is based on the Brazilian series Como Aproveitar o Fim do Mundo - which translates as How to Enjoy the End of the World - will air in the US on The CW network. In Australia, it will air on the Ten Network.
The series was being promoted at the twice annual "TCA" programming showcase in Los Angeles, where new series are rolled out for American television critics.
Following the showcase, Sasse flew out of Los Angeles to join Minogue on holiday in the Italian resort town of Portofino.
Sasse and Minogue announced their engagement in February, 2016. The announcement was made in the "forthcoming marriages" section of an Australian newspaper. The couple had been dating for six months prior to the announcement.
In February, 2015, Minogue told Fairfax Media she hoped to fall in love again. "Right about now, I would love to find love," she said. "I really, really would. That takes a lot for me to say. At this point in my life, I feel like I actually want the whole thing.
"If the heavens are looking down on me, maybe, maybe, it will come my way."
