THEY specialise in Southern American-style food and this week the staff at St Clair's newest store, Big Mamas House, will be serving breakfast to raise money for breast cancer research.
The store, which opened in St Clair Shopping Centre last month, will hold a Pink Ribbon breakfast this Thursday, October 25, from 8am to 11.30am.
There will also be food sampling, a silent auction and handmade fashion accessories being sold for charity.
Big Mamas House co-owner Richard Potter said he lost a daughter to cancer eight years ago.
He hoped that the event will create a higher profile for breast-cancer sufferers.
"It's not just about raising money, it's about raising awareness," he said.
"It's out there but a lot of people don't think about it."
Funds raised will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for research.
Mr Potter encouraged St Clair residents to support the event.
"It's just a great cause, it's a great place to come and meet friends and have something to eat," he said.
