Defending North East AFL champions GWS Giants have slumped to a second straight loss in the competition with a 16-point loss to the Canberra Demons.

The Giants got out to a 14-point half-time lead, which evaporated as the Demons came home strongly in Canberra to take the match 13.17 (95) to 12.7 (79).

Giant midfielder Daniel Lloyd said the side needs to keep working throughout the contest.

“It’s a learning curve for us that we really need to knuckle down and finish the four quarters,” he told NEAFL.com.

It sees the Giants reserves in eighth-place after three rounds ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Sydney Swans at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
