P-plater has licence confiscated after clocking 195km/h on M4

A P-player allegedly clocked travelling at 195 kilometres per hour on Wednesday narrowly avoided crashing into another car at St Marys.

Highway Patrol officers were patrolling the M4 near Orchard Hills about 11pm on July 12, when a black Subaru WRX allegedly flew past at 85 kilometres per hour over the limit.

Officers pursued the driver and allegedly saw the car come close to crashing near the M4 off-ramp at Mamre Road.

When stopped police discovered the driver was a P-player, although no plates were displayed on the vehicle.

He was also restricted from driving that car under provisional driver laws.

A female passenger was also inside the car at the time.

The driver was charged with dangerous speeding, P2 driver exceed 100 kilometres per hour limit by more then 45 kilometres per hour, drive prohibited P1/P2 vehicle and not displaying P-plates.

His licence was suspended and confiscated.
