After a stoush with Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce over her failure to quarantine her Australia-bound dogs two years ago, Amber Heard has well and truly had the last laugh.
The US actress was infamously forced by Joyce to film an awkward apology video alongside her (now former) husband - the couple have since finalised their divorce amid abuse allegations - Johnny Depp a year after the incident. She now appears to have been delighted by the news that Joyce may be ineligible for office, after it was revealed the Nationals leader holds dual New Zealand citizenship.
Heard logged onto Twitter on Tuesday morning to bring the sass.
"When [Joyce] said 'no one is above the law' I didn't realise he meant New Zealand law," she tweeted.
An hour later, she came back for a second hit.
"To comfort Mr Joyce in his hour [of] need, I have sent him a box of New Zealand's finest kiwi fruit (assuming this passes his biosecurity laws)."
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp made headlines in April 2015, after they were forced to fly their pet terriers, Pistol and Boo, back to Los Angeles following revelations they had brought them into Queensland without placing them in quarantine.
The couple had been living on the Gold Coast while Depp filmed Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, released this year.
In his capacity as Minister for Agriculture, Joyce said the dogs had to be removed from the country within 50 hours or they would be euthanised.
"It doesn't matter if Johnny Depp has been awarded sexiest man alive twice, it's time Boo and Pistol bugger off home," he said.
Speaking on Sunrise after the incident, Heard said she would be avoiding Australia in the future thanks to "certain politicians there".
She went on to suggest Joyce was trying to raise his profile by pursuing the A-list couple.
"I guess everyone tries to go for their 15 minutes, including some government officials," she said.
In April 2016, Heard appeared before the Queensland Magistrates Court and received a good behaviour bond after she pleaded guilty to falsifying travel documents to sneak Pistol and Boo into the country without going through quarantine.
As a term of her bond, Heard and Depp were required to film a video about Australian biosecurity laws, which was widely parodied.
