Hundreds of locals turn out to support Big Change for Small Change at Plumpton Marketplace

“Never underestimate the power of a donation”.

That was the catchphrase at Plumpton Marketplace as the community turned out in force to support a campaign to help sick children.

Shoppers paid a gold coin entry fee will all proceeds support plans to revamp Mount Druitt Hospital’s children’s garden.

Skate lessons, karate sessions, dance performances and face painting kept locals busy, while stores handed out special offers to shoppers.

Volunteers rattled buckets at the entrances and children left for home with balloons and smiles on their faces.

Centre manager Katrina Wolff said the reaction from the community was overwhelming.

She said hundreds of locals had turned out to throw their weight behind the cause.

“It’s been really positive. We’ve had a lot of people through the centre,” she said.
