Impact Wrestling superstar and former WWE Tough Enough competitor Laurel Van Ness, aka Chelsea Green, will be flying down under to compete against Future Wrestling Australia’s (FWA) rising upstart Alyna Limin.
Although Van Ness has experience as an advantage over the young competitor, Limin hasn’t wasted any time in her first year of competition.
The 24-year-old, of Filipino and Malaysian descent, has been wrestling for just under two years and spent months training in Canada earlier this year with Lance Storm at the Storm Wrestling Academy.
She also recently returned from Japan where she spent months training at the Kaientai Dojo with Japanese professional wrestler Taka Michinoku.
Limin, a former rugby league player for the Minchinbury Jets, said she is nervous for the face-off because it’s her biggest challenge yet.
“I really want to progress to finals of the FWA Women’s Championship tournament,” she said. “But at the same time, all the training and travelling has prepared me for moments like this.”
The two ladies will rumble in the ring in a singles match on October 13, fighting for their spot in the FWA Women’s Championship.
- 7.30pm, October 13, Bowman Hall, 35 Campbell St, Blacktown. Tickets: $13.30-$28.60. Book: moshtix.com.au/v2/event/future-wrestling-australia-gfw-lauren-van-ness-vs-alyna/98676.
