The NSW Breakers continued their strong start to the Women’s National Cricket League with a 90 run win over Victoria Spirit at Blacktown International Sportspark on Sunday.

After losing the toss, NSW batted with purpose, tallying an impressive 9-302 from its 50 overs.

Rachael Haynes once again starred with 83 but was well supported by Alyssa Healy with 68 and Alex Blackwell scoring 77, including three sixes.

Haynes and Healy set the platform with an opening partnership of 123.

Like Friday against Queensland, the NSW openers strangled the Victorian innings with Rene Farrell (2-38) and Ellyse Perry (1-23) ensuring the Breakers applied plenty of scoreboard pressure.

Nicola Carey also starred with the ball, taking 3-26.

Victoria needed over nine an over for the last 20 overs and it proved too much for the visitors.

NSW restricted Victoria to just 7-212 to claim the 90 run win.

NSW 9-302 from 50 overs (Rachael Haynes 83, Alex Blackwell 77; Kristen Beams 5-52, Molly Strano 3-39) defeated Victoria 7-212 from 50 overs (Emma Inglis 63, Sophie Molineux 62; Nicola Carey 3-26, Rene Farrell 2-38).

Next match for NSW Breakers is November 25 versus Western Australia in Perth.
