Christmas has come early for an Emerton woman after she won division one in the Saturday Lotto draw.
The thrilled resident was one of six division one winners across Australia in last Saturday’s Lotto draw. Each winner took home a division one prize of $658,047.71.
Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official on Monday, the Emerton resident described the moment she realised she was a Saturday Lotto division one winner.
“Wow! I want to squeal! It’s my Christmas present,” she said.
“The funny thing is I just couldn’t sleep early yesterday morning and so I checked my emails. That’s when I saw I had won something and I thought it might be just a couple of thousand, so I went and checked the winning numbers and checked my numbers.
“Oh my God! It thought I was dreaming. I thought it can’t be right!
“And then I really couldn’t sleep!”
The woman said she wouldn’t make any drastic lifestyle changes following the win, but would enjoy the greater financial security.
“I love my job so I will keep working. It just means I can breathe easier – you never know what will happen. I can not stress about the future now,” she said.
“I’m just so happy. I just can’t believe it!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought her 14-game entry from Emerton Newsagency at Emerton Shopping Village.
Newsagency owner Mamdouh Roffaell was thrilled to sell another division one winning entry.
He said the outlet was no stranger to selling winning tickets. The last division one winning entry was sold in July 2015.
“It’s always great to hear that another one of our customers has won,” he said.
“We wish the winner all the very best with their prize.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3789 on November 11 were 30, 19, 43, 18, 27 and 38. The supplementary numbers were 21 and 16..
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 360 so far this calendar year, including 109 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
There are more chances to win big with Tuesday night’s Oz Lotto offering a whopping $40 million, while Thursday’s Powerball has a huge $6 million up for grabs.
