Man sustains head injuries after allegedly being assaulted with hammer in Whalan

A man, 27, was taken to hospital with head injuries after allegedly being assaulted with a hammer in Whalan on Monday night.

Police have arrested a second man, 31, after being called to the alleged attack about 8.40pm on December 4.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Blacktown Hospital in a stable condition.

The 31-year-old was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station and charged with destroying or damaging property, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (domestic violence).

He will appear before Mount Druitt Local Court on December 11.
