Weapons and drugs found after police pursuit through Colyton

A replica pistol and a machete were found in a car following a police pursuit through Colyton on Thursday.

Three men allegedly led police on a chase after Highway Patrol attempted to stop a Ford Falcon on Carpenter Street, Colyton, at 1.15pm on December 7.

Police said the driver failed to stop and they pursued the car to Saddington Street, St Marys, where it stopped and three men ran from the scene. They were arrested nearby.

A knife and drugs were allegedly found on the men after their arrest.

Upon searching the car, officers allegedly found a replica glock pistol, prohibited weapons including a machete, and a set of number plates believed to be stolen.

The trio were taken to Penrith police station. The driver, 19, was charged with 12 offences including police pursuit, negligent driving, and driving while suspended.

One passenger, 31, was charged with possessing a prohibited drug as well as an outstanding warrant.

Both men were refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today.

The other passenger, 18, was charged with possessing a knife in public. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Tuesday, January 16.
