THE St Marys Rugby League Club opened the kitchen of its new $3 million venue this month.
Ironbark Terrace and Pizzeria features Australian hardwood ironbark throughout, inspiring the name of the eatery.
Head chef Gaby Georges was brought in to create a menu from scratch and he carefully crafted 24 pizzas for every taste, including some for those with a sweet tooth.
"I've cooked my whole life and and have a passion for it," he said.
"I get a lot of satisfaction in seeing people enjoy the food I make."
Mr Georges grew up in a family who loves sitting down to eat and made use of secret family recipes for the pizzeria's sauce and pizza dough.
The menu includes the already popular "spicy saints" pizza with chilli, garlic, anchovies and pepperoni.
"It comes from my mother and I've had the recipe for 20-odd years," he said.
"The feedback I'm getting is phenomenal; it's almost 100 per cent positive."
Be prepared to wait for your pizza as there is a lot of demand.
"We take care in preparing it and I'm very particular about how things are made," Mr Georges said.
"Some customers complain about waiting too long but once they taste the pizza they come and tell us it's worth the wait."
Pizza prices are from $9 to $20.
