Two men have been arrested and charged as part of an investigation into the ongoing supply of heroin between Parramatta and the Blue Mountains.
‘‘It is a significant arrest," Mount Druitt crime manager, Detective Inspector David Goddard, said.
Police from his command established Strike Force Tourle in March 2015 to investigate this problem.
As a result of their inquiries, police from Mt Druitt LAC and the North West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad yesterday arrested a 45-year-old man and a 53-year-old man on Archbold Road, Eastern Creek.
As they were arrested, police executed two simultaneous search warrants at two homes in Mt Druitt and Minchinbury where they found cash, stolen property, and a quantity of heroin.
The pair were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where the younger man was charged with 14 offences including:
■ Supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis;
■ Supply prohibited drug;
■ Goods in custody;
■ Possess prohibited drug;
■ Cultivate prohibited plant;
■ Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime;
■ Receiving;
■ Participate/contribute to criminal group; and
■ Owner/occupier knowingly expose child to drugs.
The older man was charged with seven offences including:
■ Supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis;
■ Supply prohibited drug;
■ Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime; and
■ Participate/contribute to criminal group.
They were both refused bail to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court today, Thursday.
