The only place you'll find NOVA radio host Tim Blackwell

When radio host Tim Blackwell isn't hanging out at NOVA's studio co-hosting the national drive show with Kate Ritchie and Marty Sheargold, you'll find him in Sydney's inner west either eating, drinking, watching a movie, or all of the above.

Here are his five favourite Sydney spots.

1. Continental Deli, Australia Street Newtown

This place is like a second home. Mikey and the team are always happy to pour a Mar-Tinny, Can-hattan or other "tinned" delights.

It's a great spot to get some ham and cheese for home or just prop up at the bar and let them feed you! If I'm not there solo, I love to take people from outside our hood to show them how good we've got it over here!

2. Enmore Park

We take the kids here all the time ??? we're at the pool every week and the attached cafe actually makes a mean coffee, which is unusual for a pool canteen!

The playground is huge with a rocket-ship and lots of spinny stuff to make you dizzy ??? The good news is there's plenty of grass to lie down and regain consciousness!

3. Dendy, Newtown

I try to see a movie here every week - especially in the lead-up to the Oscars.

It's a good way to appear sensitive at dinner parties when you can explain with confidence what a modern day love story La La Land is and you just MUST see it. Also, Dendy are famous for their "extra-large" glasses of wine. Less trips to the bar during the film but more frequent trips to the loo.

4. Delicious Roll, Enmore Road.

It's all in the name. $5.50 for a chicken or pork banh mi. You get the idea!

5. Favourite hidden spot:

Earl's Juke Joint, King Street, Newtown. I say hidden because outside it looks like any other local butcher shop in the burbs ??? But inside, is one of Sydney's best bars!

I shouldn't say too much more for fear of exposing this little gem, but it's packed to the brim most nights so enough people get the picture. Best bar staff, drinks list and vibe (I hate that word but it's true) in town!
